Taxonomy
Pleurolicus exiguus was named by Korth (1996). Its type specimen is F:AM 126857, a mandible (right mandible with p4-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hay Springs Creek (Upper Harrison), which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in the Marsland Formation of Nebraska.
