Pliocyon medius
Taxonomy
Pliocyon medius was named by Matthew (1918) [genotype]. Its type specimen is AMNH 17207 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Surface Quarry, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Olcott Formation of Nebraska. It is the type species of Pliocyon.
