It was recombined as Cynogulo dudleyi by Kretzoi (1968); it was recombined as Osteoborus dudleyi by Webb (1969) and Munthe (1998); it was synonymized subjectively with Borophagus crassapineatus by Richey (1979); it was recombined as Borophagus dudleyi by Tedford et al. (1987) and Wang et al. (1999).
