Pliophenacomys primaevus
Taxonomy
Phenacomys primaevus was named by Hibbard (1937) [type of subgenus Pliophenacomys; also said to be 1938]. Its type locality is Rexroad KU Locality 2, which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.
It was recombined as Pliophenacomys primaevus by Hibbard (1972), Kurten and Anderson (1980) and Zakrzewski (1984).
