Taxonomy
Pliosaccomys dubius was named by Wilson (1936) [genotype]. Its type locality is Smiths Valley (CIT 174), which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Coal Valley Formation of Nevada. It is the type species of Pliosaccomys.
