Miocyon scotti

Taxonomy
Prodaphaenus scotti was named by Wortman and Matthew (1899). Its type specimen is PU 11238 and AMNH 2510, a partial skull (Upper molars (PU 11238) and lower jaw (AMNH 2510)), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wagonhound Canyon (Uinta B2), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Uinta Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Miocyon.

It was recombined as Uintacyon scotti by Matthew (1909), Thorpe (1923), Stock (1934), Gustafson (1986) and Westgate (1990); it was recombined as Miocyon scotti by Bryant (1992) and Friscia and Rasmussen (2010).
