Taxonomy
Etadonomys tiheni was named by Hibbard (1943) [genotype]. Its type locality is Borchers, which is in a Gelasian terrestrial siltstone in the Crooked Creek Formation of Kansas.
It was recombined as Prodipodomys tiheni by Zakrzewski (1981) and Dalquest et al. (1992).
