Brachycrus elrodi

Taxonomy
Merycochoerus elrodi was named by Douglass (1901). Its type specimen is CM 818, a mandible (posterior portion of left ramus with M2 - M3 br.), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pronomotherium elrodi by Thorpe (1937); it was recombined as Brachycrus elrodi by Schultz and Falkenbach (1940); it was synonymized subjectively with Brachycrus laticeps by Kelly and Lander (1988); it was considered a nomen vanum by Lander (1998).
