Brachycrus madisonius

Taxonomy
Merycochoerus madisonius was named by Douglass (1901). Its type specimen is CM 800, a mandible (partial right ramus with P1 - P4, rt. and M1 (br.)-M3 (br.)), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pronomotherium madisonium by Douglass (1907) and Thorpe (1937); it was recombined as Brachycrus madisonius by Schultz and Falkenbach (1940); it was synonymized subjectively with Brachycrus laticeps by Kelly and Lander (1988); it was considered a nomen vanum by Lander (1998).
