Mytonomys robustus
Taxonomy
Prosciurus robustus was named by Peterson (1919). Its type specimen is C. M. No. 2925, a mandible (fragment of lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Myton Pocket, which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Uinta Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Mytonomys.
It was recombined as Leptotomus robustus by Wilson (1940); it was recombined as Mytonomys robustus by Wood (1956), Wood (1962), Black (1968), Wood (1980) and Korth (1988).
