Taxonomy
Protalphadon crebreforme was named by Cifelli (1990). Its type locality is northeast of Henrieville, OMNH V8, which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Wahweap Formation of Utah.
It was recombined as Varalphadon crebreforme by Johanson (1996) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
