Achaenodon uintense
Taxonomy
Protelotherium uintense was named by Osborn (1895). Its type specimen is AMNH 1822, a partial skull (Skull with shattered teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wagonhound Canyon (Uinta B2), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Uinta Formation of Utah.
It was recombined as Achaenodon uintensis by Gazin (1955); it was recombined as Achaenodon uintense by Peterson (1919) and Foss (2007).
