Triplopus obliquidens

Mammalia - Perissodactyla - Hyracodontidae

Taxonomy
Hyrachyus obliquidens was named by Scott and Osborn (1887) [Colbert and Schoch 1998 list this as a synonym of Helaletes nanus but give no specific justification for their action and fail to mention the combination Dilophodon nanus, so I believe that they have accidentally confused the two species ].

It was recombined as Prothyracodon obliquidens by Peterson (1919), Wood (1927) and Wood (1934); it was recombined as Triplopus obliquidens by Osborn (1889), Hay (1902), Radinsky (1967), Black (1979) and Prothero (1998).
