Diplobunops matthewi

Taxonomy

Diplobunops matthewi was named by Peterson (1919). Its type specimen is CM 2974, a partial skeleton (numerous fragments of the skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Myton Pocket, which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Uinta Formation of Utah.

It was recombined as Agriochoerus matthewi by Lander (1998).

Diplobunops leotensis was named by Scott (1945) [Peterson].

It was considered a nomen nudum by Scott (1945); it was synonymized subjectively with Agriochoerus matthewi by Lander (1998).
Diplobunops uintensis was named by Peterson (1931).

It was synonymized subjectively with Diplobunops matthewi by Gazin (1955); it was synonymized subjectively with Agriochoerus matthewi by Lander (1998).
Diplobunops ultimus was named by Peterson (1931).

It was synonymized subjectively with Diplobunops matthewi by Gazin (1955); it was synonymized subjectively with Agriochoerus matthewi by Lander (1998).
Protoreodon pearcei was named by Gazin (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 20305, a partial skeleton (Skull, jaws, and other portions of skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Diplobunops matthewi by Black (1978) and Wilson and Stevens (1986); it was recombined as Agriochoerus pearcei by Lander (1998).
