Eporeodon (Paraeporeodon) pacificus

Taxonomy
Eucrotaphus jacksoni pacificus was named by Cope (1884) [named as a subspecies of E. jacksoni by Cope 1884; raised to species level]. Its type specimen is AMNH 7502, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Eucrotaphus pacificus by Trouessart (1898); it was recombined as Eporeodon occidentalis pacificus by Matthew (1899); it was recombined as Eporeodon leptacanthus pacificus by Thorpe (1921); it was recombined as Eporeodon (Paraeporeodon) pacificus by Schultz and Falkenbach (1968); it was synonymized subjectively with Merycochoerus occidentalis by Fremd (1994); it was synonymized subjectively with Eporeodon occidentalis by Lander (1998); it was recombined as Eporeodon pacificus by Hay (1902), Thorpe (1937), Stevens and Stevens (2007) and Stevens et al. (2023).
