Cimolomys gracilis

Taxonomy
Cimolomys gracilis was named by Marsh (1889) [not Cope, contra some authors; GENOTYPE]. Its type specimen is YPM 11835, a tooth (M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hatcher No. 1 (UCMP V-5003), which is in a Lancian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Cimolomys.

It was recombined as Ptilodus gracilis by Osborn (1893) and Hay (1930).
