Cyriacotherium was named by Rose and Krause (1982). It is not extant. Its type is Cyriacotherium argyreum. It is the type genus of Cyriacotheriidae.

It was assigned to Cyriacotheriidae by Rose and Krause (1982), Carroll (1988) and Scott (2010).
