Taxonomy
Schizolophodon was named by Peterson (1919). It is not extant. Its type is Schizolophodon cuspidens.

It was synonymized subjectively with Isectolophus by Radinsky (1963), Prothero and Schoch (1989) and Colbert and Schoch (1998).

It was assigned to Isectolophinae by Peterson (1919).
