Amygdalophylloides was named by Dobrolyubova and Kabakovich (1948) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp C Step-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1240]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Geyerophyllidae by Hill (1981), Rodriguez and Bamber (2012) and Kora et al. (2019).
