Serbelodon barbourensis
Taxonomy
Serbelodon barbourensis was named by Frick (1933) [genotype]. Its type specimen is F:AM 25730 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Xmas Quarry, which is in a Clarendonian terrestrial horizon in the Ash Hollow Formation of Nebraska. It is the type species of Serbelodon.
It was recombined as Amebelodon barbourensis by Tobien (1972), Skinner and Johnson (1984) and Voorhies (1990).
