Taxonomy
Sorex meltoni was named by Hibbard and Bjork (1971). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hagerman (UM-Ida 1a-65), which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Glenns Ferry Formation of Idaho.
