Taxonomy
Spalacotheridium mckennai was named by Cifelli (1990) [genotype]. Its type locality is Jimmy Canyon (MNA 995), which is in a Turonian terrestrial horizon in the Straight Cliffs Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Spalacotheridium.
