Taxonomy
Spalacotheridium mckennai was named by Cifelli (1990) [genotype]. Its type locality is MNA 995, Jimmy Canyon, which is in a Turonian/Turonian terrestrial horizon in the Straight Cliffs Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Spalacotheridium.
