Sphenocoelus hyognathus

Taxonomy
Palaeosyops hyognathus was named by Osborn (1889) [also attributed to Scott and Osborn 1889 and Osborn 1890, but Osborn 1929 explains that the 1889 publication was a separate issued by himself and that Scott and Osborn's paper did appear in 1890].

It was recombined as Sphenocoelus hyognathus by Mader (1998) and Mader (2008); it was recombined as Dolichorhinus hyognathus by Hatcher (1895), Osborn (1908), Riggs (1912), Peterson (1924), Osborn (1929), Mader (1989) and Mihlbachler (2008).
