Asserculinia was named by Schouppé and Stacul (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Metriophyllidae by Hill (1981) and Ataei et al. (2019).
