Strigorhysis bridgerensis

Taxonomy
Strigorhysis bridgerensis was named by Bown (1979). Its type specimen is USNM 250559, a mandible (left dentary with p4, m2, and roots or alveoli of i1-2, c, and m1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vass Quarry, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Aycross Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Strigorhysis.

It was synonymized subjectively with Anaptomorphus aemulus by Gingerich (1981); it was recombined as Anaptomorphus bridgerensis by Eaton (1982); it was synonymized subjectively with Absarokius lovei by Szalay (1982).
