Tapirus polkensis

Taxonomy
Tapiravus polkensis was named by Olsen (1960). Its type specimen is FGS V-5941, a tooth (upper left P4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Agrico Pierce Mine, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in Florida.

It was recombined as Tapirus polkensis by Hulbert (1999), Ferrero and Noriega (2007) and Hulbert (2010).
