Tapirus merriami

Taxonomy
Tapirus merriami was named by Frick (1921). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bautista Creek, which is in an Irvingtonian terrestrial horizon in the San Timoteo Formation of California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Tapirus haysii by Ray and Sanders (1984).
