Taxonomy
Teilhardina americana was named by Bown (1976). Its type specimen is UW 6896, a mandible (left dentary with c, possible alveolus for p1, p2-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is No Water (150'), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Tetonoides americana by Gingerich (1981); it was synonymized subjectively with Anemorhysis tenuiculus by Szalay (1982).
