Temnocyon typicus
Taxonomy
Temnocyon typicus was named by Loomis (1936). Its type specimen is Amherst Coll. Mus. 22-684, a partial skeleton (imperfect skull, part of the lower jaw, and some 8 vertebrae), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fort Mitchell, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in Nebraska.
