Taxonomy
Mookomys bodei was named by Wilson (1949). Its type locality is South Mountain (CIT 220), which is in an Arikareean fluvial-lacustrine sandstone/mudstone in the Sespe Formation of California.
It was recombined as Tenudomys bodei by Korth (1993), Korth (1994) and Korth (1997).
