Thryptacodon pseudarctos

Taxonomy
Thryptacodon pseudarctos was named by Simpson (1928). Its type specimen is A. M. No. 22176, a tooth (isolated [upper] M2 right), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bear Creek, which is in a Clarkforkian terrestrial horizon in the Fort Union Formation of Montana.

It was synonymized subjectively with Thryptacodon antiquus by Van Valen and Sloan (1966) and Van Valen (1978).
