Titanoides looki
Taxonomy
Sparactolambda looki was named by Patterson (1939) [genotype]. Its type specimen is FMNH P15520, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sparactolambda Quarry, which is in a Clarkforkian terrestrial horizon in the DeBeque Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Sparactolambda.
It was synonymized subjectively with Titanoides primaevus by Simons (1960) and Gingerich and Childress (1983); it was recombined as Titanoides looki by Gingerich (1996).
