Ischyromys veterior
Taxonomy
Ischyromys veterior was named by Matthew (1903). Its type specimen is AMNH 9658, a mandible (dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pipestone Springs, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial claystone in the Renova Formation of Montana.
It was recombined as Titanotheriomys veterior by Miller and Gidley (1920), Wood (1937), Wood (1976) and Wood (1980).
