Ellipsodon inaequidens

Taxonomy
Tricentes inaequidens was named by Cope (1884). Its type specimen is AMNH 3095, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gallegos Canyon, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the Nacimiento Formation of New Mexico. It is the type species of Ellipsodon.

It was recombined as Mioclaenus inaequidens by Matthew (1897); it was recombined as Ellipsodon inaequidens by Scott (1892), Simpson (1937), Matthew (1937) and Williamson and Carr (2007).
