Taxonomy
Trilaccogaulus bettae was named by Sutton and Korth (1995). Its type locality is Anceney, which is in a Barstovian channel sandstone in the Madison Valley Formation of Montana.

It was recombined as Galbreathia bettae by Korth (1999).
