Valenia wilsoni
Taxonomy
Promioclaenus wilsoni was named by Van Valen (1978). Its type specimen is KU 9446, a partial skull (associated rostrum with LP4-M3 and RP3-M2, right dentary with ?p1, p3-m2, and left dentary with p2-3 and trigonid of Lm1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Alamo Wash, which is in a Puercan terrestrial horizon in the Nacimiento Formation of New Mexico.
It was recombined as Valenia wilsoni by de Muizon and Cifelli (2000) and Eberle (2003).
