Viejadjidaumo magniscopuli was named by Wood (1974) [genotype]. Its type locality is Red Mound North of Big Cliff, which is in a Duchesnean terrestrial horizon in the Chambers Tuff Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Viejadjidaumo.
