Taxonomy
Wyolestes iglesius was named by Novacek et al. (1991). Its type locality is Lomas las Tetas de Cabra, which is in a Wasatchian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone/siltstone in the Las Tetas de Cabra Formation of Mexico.
