Washakius woodringi

Taxonomy
Yumanius woodringi was named by Stock (1938). Its type specimen is Calif. Inst. Tech. Vert. Pale. Coll. No. 2233, a maxilla (right maxillary fragment with M1 and M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is San Diego Mission (CIT 249-S), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the undifferentiated Friars Formation of California. It is the type species of Yumanius.

It was recombined as Washakius woodringi by Gazin (1958), Szalay (1976) and Honey (1990).
