Taxonomy
Quadriplatanus georgianus was named by Magallon-Puebla et al. (1997) [Figs. 4, 10, 12, 13, 25, 26, 28]. Its type specimen is PP45014. Its type locality is McBrides Ford, which is in a Coniacian/Santonian fluvial mudstone/sandstone in the Eutaw Formation of Georgia.
