Dystrophaeus viaemalae
Taxonomy
Dystrophaeus viaemalae was named by Cope (1877). Its type specimen is USNM 2364, a partial skeleton (humerus, three metarsals, distal end of ulna, probable sternum, and fragments), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Canyon Quarry, Painted Canyon, which is in an Oxfordian crevasse splay sandstone in the Morrison Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Dystrophaeus.
