Taxonomy
Praekogia cedrosensis was named by Barnes (1973). Its type specimen is UCR 15229 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo Delphin, which is in a Messinian coastal sandstone/conglomerate in the Almejas Formation of Mexico.
