Marasuchus lilloensis
Taxonomy
Lagosuchus lilloensis was named by Romer (1972). Its type specimen is PVL 3871, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Los Chanares locality, which is in a Ladinian terrestrial horizon in the Chañares Formation of Argentina.
It was synonymized subjectively with Lagosuchus talampayensis by Bonaparte (1975), Paul (1988) and Olshevsky (1991); it was recombined as Marasuchus lilloensis by Sereno and Arcucci (1994), Arcucci (1997), Novas (1997), Rauhut (2003), Yates (2003), Thulborn (2006), Ezcurra (2006), Upchurch et al. (2007), Smith and Pol (2007), Bittencourt and Kellner (2009), Martínez and Alcober (2009), Langer et al. (2010), Nesbitt (2011), Kammerer et al. (2012), Han et al. (2012), Marzola and Dalla Vecchia (2014), Mocho et al. (2014), Becerra et al. (2016), Martínez et al. (2016), Griffin and Nesbitt (2016), Ezcurra (2017), Madzia et al.
