Alexornis antecedens
Taxonomy
Alexornis antecedens was named by Brodkorb (1976). Its type specimen is LACM 33213, a limb element (distal 10 mm of right humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is southwest of El Rosario, which is in a Santonian terrestrial horizon in the La Bocana Roja Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Alexornis.
