Crusafontina was named by Gibert (1975) [Sometimes 1974 is given as year of publication, refering to the unpublished PhD Thesis of Gibert.]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Amblycoptini by Rzebik-Kowalska (1994); to Anourosoricini by Van Dam (2004) and Ziegler (2005); and to Nectogalini by Gunnell et al. (2008).

J. A. Van Dam 2004Dental formula 1043/1023. A3, M3, and m3 reduced, but always present. Upper condylar facet triangular or oval, lower oblong, interarticular area very narrow. Internal temporal fossa subtriangular to round or oval. I1 with buccal cingulum. A1 without parastyle. P4 is pentagonal because of the projecting parastyle. P4 and M1 with distinct posterior emargination. M1 parastyle projecting less or equally far buccally compared to metastyle. M2 with complete talon. i1 mono-, bi-, or tricuspulate. p4 with posterolingual depression. m1 and m2 with entocristid.
