Taxonomy
Plesiodimylus chantrei was named by Gaillard (1899). Its type specimen is Museum d'histoire naturelle Lyon, a maxilla (Fragment maxilla, mandible and humerus sin.), and it is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Plesiodimylus.
