Taxonomy
Cordylodon intercedens was named by Müller (1967). It is not extant. Its type specimen is BSP Slg. M. 1937 II 10336, a mandible (Mandible with p4-m2 sin. and p4 dext.). It is the type species of Chainodus.
It was recombined as Chainodus intercedens by Rzebik-Kowalska (1996).

Symphyse fest verwachsen, Unterkiefer kräftig, p3 fast völlig reduziert, am p4 auch hintere Labialecke verbreitert, am Hinterrand kleiner Nebenhöcker. Am m1 Trigonid gegenüber dem Talonid verkleinert. P4 mit kleinem Nebenhöcker und lang aigezogener Vorderspitze. M1 mit spitz auslaufendem Metastyl, Paraconus und Parastyl gleich groß. |
