Taxonomy
Microdyromys koenigswaldi was named by de Bruijn (1966). Its type specimen is M1-2/(1516), a set of teeth, and it is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Microdyromys.
It was synonymized subjectively with Microdyromys praemurinus by Mayr (1979) and Legendre (1982).
