Tucanopollis annulatus was named by Schrank and Mahmoud (2002). Its type locality is Dakhla Oasis Area, which is in the Barremian of horizon the Six Hills Formation Egypt.

Outline of pollen grains and of pores subcircular to elliptical. Exine tectate with thin sexine closely appresed to the nexine. Sculpture uniformly rugulate to microverrucate over the whole grain surface including the operculum.
